Week 15-16:
We've been continuing our revision these days. We made a cute revision book for the different things that we've learned this term. We have also been playing games to help us revise.
These two days we just did some revision on the vocabulary we learned this term for the different consonant blends. Monday, we played Battleship again, and Tuesday we did a crossword to revise the 'st' blend. There are a lot of new 'st' words in the crossword - don't worry, the assessment will only include words that are covered in the GTE book.
No homework tonight - keep revising :)

Homework is to finish GTE p.24 and hand it in tomorrow.
- Verbs are action words - things that we do (e.g., run, jump, talk, eat, etc.)
- Regular past tense verbs need to add an 'ed' to the end. For example:
- watch -> watched, play -> played, enjoy -> enjoyed
- Irregular past tense verbs do not add an 'ed' at the end. For example:
- eat -> ate, read -> read, think -> thought

Tuesday: When I introduce a new Oxford Reading Tree story, I often like to read a 'silly' version the first time. So that's what we did today - we read The Broken Roof but the silly version! So if your kids come home and start talking about Miss McDonalds or chicken or beef, then that's where they got it 😂
Homework is to go home and read The Broken Roof and bring it to class on Thursday.
Bonus video just for fun!

Next, we learned all about FLAMINGOS! You can have a look at the presentation from today's class here: www.canva.com/design/DAF1-k5q3fc/JKllTp_oa-qADDMDxPYYiQ/view?utm_content=DAF1-k5q3fc&utm_campaign=designshare&utm_medium=link&utm_source=editor and you can rewatch the video here below.

Monday: Today we wrapped up the 'CL' phonics unit - and I wanted to wait until there were clouds in the sky to finish page 5 in the GTE book, but alas - no clouds for this whole unit!!! But we went upstairs to look at the clouds anyway - at least it's a beautiful day to go outside!
Another thing that I want to mention about page 5 is that there are many big words for cloud names and they WILL NOT be on the assessment, so don't worry about that!
Homework today is to complete pages 4 and 5 in yout GTE book and hand it in tomorrow.

Thursday: Thursdays are always a challenge because our lesson is the last lesson of the day. That means writing handbooks, packing schoolbags, and lining up early for the school bus. So today, we did something very simple but fun. On p.3 of the GTE book, there is a picture of clouds, and I asked the class to look at them and circle and write down what they see. There must have been over 50 diffrerent things that the class saw in the clouds - a simple but fun activity to get the class using their creativity!

Monday: How good it is to be back and see all of your smiling faces! I have to admit, I was a bit nervous coming to school today, but the second I walked in the classroom and was greeted with smiles and cheers, I felt right at home! It is SO good to see everyone again!!!
Today's lesson was a simple one - since we're learning the CL blend, we went up to the rooftop and looked at the clouds and talked about the shapes we could see in them. Then we went back to the classroom and read Clark and Cleo's Clouds.
Homework is easy - read Clark and Cleo's Clouds and make sure you bring your book plus the new GTE book to class tomorrow.
