The rule of thirds.
Imagine that your viewfinder is divided into 9 equal parts - like a tic-tac-toe board. When we take photos, we want our subject to be somewhere where the lines intersect - not in the middle. This allows our photo to "breathe" and it helps create more energy and interest in your photos.
